2.2.3 Employer housing contribution (INFONAVIT) | Mexico

Mexico

The national institute of living quarters operates a national living quarters fund (INFONAVIT). The funds are used to create small housing quarters in populated working areas.

In 2024 (unchanged from 2023) employers must pay 5% of each employee's integrated daily salary (see 2.1) to the federal workers housing fund INFONAVIT (infonavit.org.mx). The payment is made bimonthly in line with the norm of paying employees (other than manual labourers) bimonthly (see 1.3). There is cap based on integrated salary being limited to 25 times the UMA (2.2.4).
