Work-focused interviews

57  Claim or full entitlement to certain benefits conditional on work-focused interview

After section 2 of the Administration Act there shall be inserted—

“Work-focused interviews
2A Claim or full entitlement to certain benefits conditional on work-focused interview

(1)ÌýÌýÌýÌý Regulations may make provision for or in connection with—

(a)ÌýÌýÌýÌý imposing, as a condition falling to be satisfied by a person who—

(i)ÌýÌýÌýÌý makes a claim for a benefit to which this section applies, and

(ii)ÌýÌýÌýÌý is under the age of 60 at the time of making the claim,

a requirement to take part in a work-focused interview;

(b)ÌýÌýÌýÌý imposing, at a time when—

(i)ÌýÌýÌýÌý a person is under that age and entitled to such a benefit, and

(ii)ÌýÌýÌýÌý any prescribed circumstances exist,

a requirement to take part in such an interview as a condition of that person continuing to be entitled to the full amount which is payable to him in respect of the benefit apart from the regulations.

(2)ÌýÌýÌýÌý The benefits to which this section applies are—

(a)ÌýÌýÌýÌý income support;

(b)ÌýÌýÌýÌý housing benefit;

(c)ÌýÌýÌýÌý council tax benefit;
