Part 2 Safeguarding Remedies

Schedule 5 to TCTA 2018 (increase in imports causing serious injury to UK producers) is amended as follows.

Notification etc

(1)     In paragraph 7 (initiation of a safeguarding investigation)—

(a)     after sub-paragraph (4) insert—

“(4A)     Where the TRA receives an application under sub-paragraph (1)(a)(i), the TRA must notify the Secretary of State of the application before the end of the second working day after the day on which it receives the applicationâ€;

(b)     in sub-paragraph (6), in the words before paragraph (a), after “must†insert “notify the Secretary of State that it intends to initiate a safeguarding investigation and, after the relevant interval, must take the following steps in the order in which they are set outâ€;

(c)     after sub-paragraph (6) insert—

“(6A)     In sub-paragraph (6), the “relevant interval†is the period of two working days beginning with the first working day after the day on which the TRA notifies the Secretary of State of its intention to initiate the safeguarding investigation.â€;

(d)     after sub-paragraph (7) insert—

“(8)     In this paragraph, “working day†means any day other than a Saturday, a Sunday or a day
