Section 3 of the Piracy Act 1837 (punishment for offence under certain repealed Acts relating to piracy) shall cease to have effect.

(b)     in the definition of “violent offenceâ€, for “has the same meaning as in the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000†there is substituted “means an offence listed in Part 1 of Schedule 15 to the Criminal Justice Act 2003â€.
