Sustainable development (Brundtland definition) definition

What does Sustainable development (Brundtland definition) mean?

The Brundtland Report, as the report entitled Our Common Future is widely referred to, defines sustainable development as: ‘Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It [sustainable development] contains within it two key concepts: • the concept of needs, in particular the essential needs of the world's poor, to which overriding priority should be given; and • the idea of limitations imposed by the state of technology and social organization on the environment's ability to meet present and future needs.’

"It's hard to quantify, right now. But at a guess, I'd say it's probably more than 50% faster, at times. It's literally that quick. We've found to be an essential practical tool. We're very satisfied."
