Statutory funding objective definition

What does Statutory funding objective mean?

Also known as scheme specific funding, the SFO requires all defined benefit schemes (unless exempt) to hold sufficient assets to cover their technical provisions.

The assets which may be taken into account in the calculation along with the actuarial assumptions and methods to be used when calculating technical provisions are set out in regulations.
