Fixture definition

What does Fixture mean?

A chattel that has become part of the land.

Where a chattel has been annexed to the land with a sufficient degree of permanence it becomes part of the land. Ownership of the fixture will therefore pass with the land. A fixture may be severed so as to become a chattel.
