Business tenancy definition

What does Business tenancy mean?

A tenancy regulated by the landlord and tenant Act 1954.

Part II of the Act applies to tenancies where the property comprised in the tenancy is or includes premises which are occupied by the tenant for the purposes of a business that he or she carries on. The Act contains detailed provision for how such tenancies may be terminated or may continue after the term of the lease and limits the grounds on which a landlord can take back possession.
