Director of Compliance (AMAFI)

Pauline Laurent is the Director of Compliance with AMAFI since 2015. A graduate of the University of Paris-Dauphine and holder of a Master 2 degree in financial markets law, she began her career with AMAFI in 2005 before working as Compliance Officer for various brokers and investment banks. She participated in the implementation of the MiFID I regime and the finalisation of the drafting process for MiFID II. She is an assessor for the Master program for Compliance Law of the universities of Toulouse and Strasbourg. She is a co-author of the first edition of Directive MiFID I – Construire le marché financier européen (MiFID I Directive – Building the European financial market), published in September 2007 by RB Edition.

Director of Market Activities (AMAFI)

Emmanuel de Fournoux has been the Director of Market Activities at AMAFI for the last twenty years and has participated in devising the MiFID regulation since its outset. A graduate of the École supérieure de commerce of Tours, he previously worked in the back-offices of several investment firms. He is a director of the Association française des professionnels des titres (French Association of securities professionals) (AFTI) and a member of the Post-Market consultative committee of the French Financial Market Authority (Autorité des Marchés Financiers – AMF). He is a co-author of the first edition of Directive MiFID I – Construire le marché financier européen (MiFID I Directive – Building the European financial market), published in September 2007 by RB Edition.

Partner (Spitz Poulle Kannan)

Jean-Baptiste Poulle is a partner in the law firm of Spitz Poulle Kannan. He is well known in the French market as a leading regulatory lawyer and regularly assists clients on significant financial and banking matters and has been heavily involved in the implementation of MiFID II. He has held various teaching positions at top French universities such as the Paris II Panthéon-Assas University and has published extensively on financial markets and banking law. He graduated from Sciences-Po Paris and ESSEC, and obtained a PhD in capital markets law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Advisor in the Market Activities department (AMAFI)

Faustine Fleuret is a graduate in Management Sciences at the Institut d’administration des entreprises (IAE) of Lyon and of the Master 2 Banking and Finance program of the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. After having worked at the AMF’s Regulation and International Affairs department, she joined AMAFI in November 2016 as a Market Activities advisor. In parallel, she lectures on Derivative Products and Risk Management for the Master 1 Money, Banking, Finance & Insurance programme at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and she is a member of the Laboratory of Excellence for Financial Regulation (LabEx-ReFI).

Advisor in the Compliance department (AMAFI)

Blandine Julé is a graduate of the Master 2 Investment Banking and Markets program of the University of Paris-Dauphine and of the Master 2 Financial Security Law program of the University of Strasbourg. After working for Natixis, and then for HSBC in the field of financial security, she joined AMAFI in October 2016 as a Compliance advisor in charge of Financial Security. In that capacity, she participated in the finalisation work for the MiFID II process on the Investor Protection component.

Partner (Spitz Poulle Kannan)

Arut Kannan is a partner in the law firm of Spitz Poulle Kannan. Arut has extensive experience in legal, regulatory and compliance issues relating to finance and banking matters, including experience in internal investigations and pre-litigation matters arising from complex financial products. Arut holds a degree in law from the University of London and a postgraduate degree in law and economy from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis. He is member of the Paris Bar and a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.

Nicolas Spitz is a partner in the law firm of Spitz Poulle Kannan. A specialist in banking and financial regulatory and litigation matters, Nicolas Spitz has been involved in some of the most important transactional regulatory matters in France recently. Nicolas Spitz holds a teaching position at ESSEC Business School and at the Paris II Panthéon-Assas University. He has also published extensively on financial markets and banking law. He graduated from Sciences-Po Paris, holds a Masters in Finance from the London School of Economics and obtained a PhD in capital markets law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. He is a member of the Paris Bar.
