In general, a corporation is in the same position in relation to criminal liability1 as a natural person and may be convicted of common law2 and statutory3 offences including those requiring mens rea4. There are, however, crimes which a corporation is incapable of committing5; nor can a corporation be convicted of a crime for which imprisonment is the only punishment6.
